High Gloss Additive for Furniture and Laminate Flooring
For direct laminated wood panel boards at existing machinery for Furniture and Laminate Flooring. DeuroGloss has been developed to achieve a high gloss surface with existing machinery, without complications and without costly set-up times. DeuroGloss can be used for one or two stage impregnation process with Urea – Melamine resins. Gloss levels of 115 points (measured at 60°, BYK) have been proved sustainable in standard production practice. DeuroGloss is fully compatible with aminoplast-resin types, provides an excellent impregnated paper surface at UNI-, metallic- and printed décor papers.
Cost efficient by low dosage
The recommended dosage is 3% related to the liquid resin, this provides cost efficiency. Distinct gloss effects with DeuroGloss have already been proved far below the recommended dosing, it depends on the local process conditions, e.g. im-pregnation system, high gloss press plates, closing and press times, etc.
Guideline for a simple and correct application to achieve the best gloss effect
DeuroGloss is predominantly added to the 2nd resin vat or raster coating resin. DeuroGloss has no impact at the impregnation process, the storage of impregnated paper neither the lamination process (quick and homogenous curing) because of his individual formulation.

Background information about Gloss measuring
Gloss Levels are measured with different reflection angles for a better differentiation between high gloss and matte finished surface (basic: as higher the gloss level as smaller the angle of reflection for better proportional and repeatable measuring results, see figure) Therefor three angles of reflection have been standardized in industry:
- Matte finish: 85° angle of reflection
- Medium gloss finish: 60° angle of reflection
- High gloss finish: 20° angle of reflection
The angle of 60° is used as standard, but it is recommended to consider additional the angle of 20° at higher grades above 70 points (better proportionality).
The Gloss Level is depending on the index of refraction of the material and the smoothness (finish) of the surface. Therefore same materials are comparable only.
